Does It Bother You When People Are Insensitive to Those With Mental Health Issues?

Question by lucinda: Does it bother you when people are insensitive to those with mental health issues?
I suffer from many mental health issues, and I feel that people are always being insensitive about it. I self harm often, and my friends/family are always making jokes about it. Things like suicide, depression, anxiety, ECT are always made fun of. It’s not just family and friends, but so many other people to. Even nurses and doctors! I have been to the hospital for self harm injuries, and they really don’t seem to care much at all. Have you noticed or been through anything similar?

no, but I volunteer in a company that develops Apple and Android applications for mentally disabled people, specifically autism.
However, words like “ret@rd” still come out my mouth without much trouble.

yep, then i realized i was just being ridiculous and thats why nobody ever took me seriously. so heres my advise:

stop acting like u have a bunge of problems because u DONT, ur life is much easier then what u think it is, face it. it hurts a little to understand, but in the end ull realize that everyone thinks ure just being ridiculous and thats why they make fun of u.

(why am i almost 100% sure this didnt help?)
