It is usually through the courts and it is nothing more than someone asking you how much you drink/drug…Things of that nature. Most times they will then enroll you in a class of some sort.

I had one of these a couple months ago. They will ask you a bunch of questions on your family, employment ever been in trouble. They are trying to see what level of classes you will need. I had to take a ten hour class and a victim impact class. But people that have been in trouble with drugs or substance abuse will get more classes and that means lots more money. In my state anyway, so the assessor can help you or hurt you but that is about it.
