What Profession Should I Choose Out of These 6 ?
pharmacist, parole officer, probation officer, forensic scientist, substance abuse & behavioral disorder counselor, RN, social worker. I am currently doing lower division requirements for pharmacy school, i like pharmacy but schooling is long, expensive and i am not even sure if a pharmacy school will give me admission. i been working in a pharmacy for 3 years as a tech. but lately i been really into sociology/criminology, i am starting to like crime/punishment/law/investigation/crimes with drugs involved, but i don’t want to be a cop or a lawyer. how can i decide i like all those things..

TAKE A CAREER QUIZ
http://knowcareer.blogspot.com/2007/10/career-quiz.html
I’de advice going back into school and getting a degree in criminal justice. If you just work on that by the time you get your degree you’ll have time to decided. There is a lot of options you have with a criminal justice degree.
Pharmacy and RN are very hot now and you will have perpetual jobs going forward with all the boomers getting older. Essentially you could work in any town or city across the country. also the pay is excellent
counseler and social workers would be working with lots of disturbed and difficult people but would be socially rewrarding. pretty poor pay but are gov jobs so secure
The other two are law enforcement jobs and probably require a criminal justice degree. Not sure how crowded these are but we will always need these guys. The parole one might be ugly with the types of folks you deal with and could be dangerous.
Take some classes that could apply to justice degree and pharamcy and play around for a semester or two and decide. Its always better to do something you like rather than whats easy or pays well. You are going to be in this field for 40 or 50 years! Better like it!
