I’d Like to Study This, but I’m Not Sure What Kind of Course This Is?

Question by Ingo: I’d like to study this, but I’m not sure what kind of course this is?
I’d like to study psychology, particular on child psychology. I’d like to work around young children/toddlers who are autistic, abused, hates being physically contacted or socializing and children who are mentially ill/down syndrome
Do i need a mdeical PhD or clinical training? Because I’d just like to do some exercises like having appointments with them, something like counseling.
Is this kind of category part in the course of “General Psychology”?

You’d need at least masters to do counseling or special ed teaching. Another option is to be a special ed aide, and you’d only need a bachelor’s. General psych is the intro course that is a prerequisite to get you to more advanced psych courses. Talk to your prof about places to volunteer or shadow.
