Why Do Feminists Use Bogus Studies to Promote Statistics, but Then Dismiss a Study Conducted by Harvard?

Question by TGB: Why do feminists use bogus studies to promote statistics, but then dismiss a study conducted by Harvard?
On a different thread I provided a link to a Harvard study which suggests that women commit most of the domestic violence:

http://newscastmedia.com/domestic-violence.htm

This study was conducted by Harvard Medical School
http://newscastmedia.com/harvard_study.htm

Feminists dismissed this study as “bullshit”.

Why do feminists dismiss a study conducted by Harvard as “bullshit”, and then go on and promote bogus studies of their own that say such ridiculous things as 1/4 women will be raped?
@ Granny – No one spreads untruth more than feminists. Do you really believe the feminists when they say that 1/4 women will be raped? Also, which Christina Hoff Sommers books have you read?
@ Granny – Why do you call the MRM a hate group but not feminism? Feminism has spread misinformation for decades, and blamed ALL men for the actions of a few. (e.g. They say that men in general have privilege because a small percentage of men at the top of society earn most of the money)
@ Granny – Women hate men the the sake of hating men:
http://www.ihatemen.org/

This western woman write an article about hating men, and she 946 responses, mostly form otehr women supporting her:
http://rageagainstthemanchine.com/2009/07/05/why-i-hate-men-part-1-and-then-it-hit-me/

She even has a second part, where she hates men for “taking up too much space”
http://rageagainstthemanchine.com/2010/02/18/why-i-hate-men-part-2-guys-take-up-space/

Do you deny that there is an underlying problem with the attitudes of many western women? Do you expect me NOT to be offended at this?
@ Granny – I take great offense when feminists say that I have a 1/4 chance of raping a woman because I am a man. Why did the feminists responding to this thread not address this also? Why is it that instead, they are hung up on disproving the study that disagrees with their dogma, but not the studies that false promote the view that 1-4 women will be raped?

Because feminists don’t care about equality, equal opportunity, or even equal treatment for women (ie no special treatment, no exemptions from responsibilities, no lower standards etc for women). They only care about being professtional victims to get as many rights for women as possible and tip the playing field in women’s favor as much as possible. They can’t do that if they aren’t the victims of men. They can’t do that if their lies are exposed “men are responsibly for all violence, men are the oppressors and abusers of women, men don’t face sexism, discrimination or abuse” etc.

@granny tea Yes, but 200 other studies did look at serious assaults, including those with weapons and found the same two thirds of the time it is women who commited the crime, women who initiated it, and that men were more likely to go to jail if they called the police for help.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/jul/14/a-domestic-violence-victim/

“Yet more than 200 studies have found that women initiate at least as much violence against their male partners as vice versa. Men account for about a third of domestic-violence injuries and deaths. Research shows women often compensate for their lack of physical strength by employing weapons and the element of surprise” Guess who accounts for the other two thirds of DV injuries and deaths? (hint: there are only men and women, and men only account for 1/3)

And, before you decide, why not look at the credibility of feminist researchers:
http://www.leaderu.com/real/ri9502/sommers.html
Where 73% of the people who were said to have been raped in the feminist survey, admitted in the after questionaire, that NOT EVEN THEY BELIEVED THEY WERE RAPED. And, yet these feminists published their study saying nothing about his and including them in the numbers as rape victims anyway. “only 27 percent” of the women she counted as having been raped labeled themselves as rape victims.[10] Of the remainder, 49 percent said it was “miscommunication,” 14 percent said it was a “crime but not rape,” and 11 percent said they “don’t feel victimized.”[11]

And who could doubt their survey with such loaded questions like “Have you had sexual intercourse when you didn’t want to because a man gave you alcohol or drugs?” and counting 73% of the “rape victims” in the study even though they said point blank they didn’t believed they were raped.

That is not what the study says. Please read the last paragraph of that study and you’ll see the truth. Shame on you for once again trying to spread untruths. I think the people who did this study would be horrified if they knew people like you were using it in such a dishonest way.

Edit:
The site won’t let me cut and paste it, but it essentially said that it left out all domestic violence that involves knives, guns, choking, burning and it did not concern the type of situation that drives women to seek shelters outside the home. They also said that they mostly left out all serious male on female battery from the study.

@Demon
The data in that study speaks for itself, Demon. I noticed you didn’t provide any other links, did you? Probably more of the same type of BS as TGB tried ot pull.

Besides the fact that Erin Pizzey is a well known MRA and her stuff is extremely biased.

@Darin
Both Christina Hoff Sommers and Ned Holstein are MRAs and Ned Holstein didn’t even bother to list any sources for the data he says supports his argument and he also misrepresented the same study TGB misrepresented. There are no actual links to even try to check Sommers’ sources.
http://www.fathersandfamilies.org/enews/cv/enews-20120213.html

Do you have no actual data from unbiased sources? That’s quite telling, don’t you think? I’m not sure why you’re trying to discredit feminist research to me. I don’t take research done by feminists any more seriously than research done by MRAs. They’re both biased. I keep trying to tell you guys that I’m more Libertarian than feminist. I’m an activist for both genders. I probably do more real activism for males in need than your hate-group (the MRM).

Edit:
I don’t approve of any man-hating either. The mainstream feminist organisations have their issues, but mostly they work to protect women’s rights. The MRM is just flat out a hate group focused on discrediting and destroying the women’s rights movement. Sorry but I can’t bring myself to support a group like that.

Also, throwing in a red herring doesn’t change the fact that none of those man-hating posts proves your original claim.

There’s plenty of woman-hating sites too.

Does that then give me the right to claim that there is an “underlying problem with the attitudes of many western men?”

Check out that last link. It’s especially vile. Cheers!
