In high school does hearing horror stories and lectures on what alcohol and drugs do to you make an impact on you as a person, or does it fly right over your head?
What do you think are ways to actually make even a slight impact on a teen with this topic?

Nothing will make an impact on teen until something happens to make them want to stop

They always made me think about drugs when I wouldn’t otherwise, and how awesome they must be for people to take such risks to get and take them.
Honestly, just stop putting so much focus on them. Most places the same drugs are legal, hardly anybody takes them.
If you are going to do a “Drugs are bad, Mmmm’kay?” at least don’t make it about only illegal narcotics. Prescription mind altering drugs have serious addictive properties and can be more detrimental than most narcotics if taken incorrectly, or for too long.
