Alcohol Abuse Question?

Question by Ben D: Alcohol abuse question?

I need your opinion…

If you suspect a drunk driver on the road, you should:

A) Honk your horn and flash your lights
B) Speed up and get ahead of him as quickly as possible
C) Turn off at the nearest intersection or street
D) Try to pull him over to get him off the road

I found this in my text:
Warning signs include wide, abrupt, and illegal turns; straddling the center line or lane marker; driving on the shoulder; weaving, swerving, or nearly striking an object or another vehicle; following too closely; erratic speed; driving with head lights off at night; and driving with the window down in very cold weather. If you see any of these signs, try the following strategies:

• If the driver is ahead of you, maintain a safe following distance. Don’t try to pass.

• If the driver is behind you, turn right at the nearest intersection, and let the driver pass.

• If the driver is approaching your car, move to the shoulder and stop. Avoid a head-on collision by sounding your horn or flashing your lights.

• When approaching an intersection, slow down and stay alert for vehicles that don’t appear to be slowing in preparation for stopping at a stop sign or red light.

What I need help with is it could be A or C; so what is your option as to what it is?

I say C.

Never get confrontational with someone else.

It only gets ugly.

Get off that road, let him/her pass you, call 911 and report it.

I say call 911, follow the person, but at a safe distance. just stay on the line with 911 until they’re pulled over. that way you can make sure everyone’s safe.
