I am afraid a relative is developing some sort of mental illness due to their over use of crack cocaine, how can I help ? He has become extremely angry and abusive towards any intervention thus far. ~At wits end ~

Cocaine and anyother stimulant drugs can cause severe paranioa, etc.
Maybe the drugs just permanantly mesed up his brain.

i believe there is a strong link between cocaine and schizophrenia, but it is usually called “psychosis” – caused by heavy cocaine use. not very cool to have although it can be fixed but schizophrenia can ruin the life, please try to help him or slow down
