I’m honestly interested in this subject. I’m willing to her about how you learn basic training, how they strengthened the platoon’s teamwork and the ups and downs – that sort of thing.

Describing Marine Corps boot camp here would not do it justice.
This video should answer some of those questions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldRrk0YphiM
… that’s just a taste of it.
Also, I suggest renting the documentary “Ears, Open. Eyeballs, Click.” Go check it out, now!

Boot camp for me wasn’t too hard physically or mentally for me but I learned a lot from the classes that I took, from my SDI and DI’s and from fellow recruits. I had learn to appreciate the teamwork that was stressed to us by paying the price for my mistakes and the mistakes of others. Only during the hard times of the Crucible or the time when you get that “Dear Jon” letter from home, that you know for sure that fellow recruits regardless of their background, would be there to give you a hand and to give you advice.
