What Do They Do in Adolescent Rehabs?
Question by Devan: what do they do in adolescent rehabs?
i’m 15 and have been drinking pretty regularly. i’m straightening my life out and being sent to a rehab facility for teens. what do they do there? do i have to have a room mate? do they draw blood? (i’m terrified of needles)

Answer by Karen
I just got back from a rehabilitation, for mental disorders. It got my life somewhat back in control, not fully but I’m getting there. When you go there you will have therapy sessions and talk to other people that are going through the same problem as you. Stop drinking while you are young. It’s a bad thing to try and stop later in life. You may have a room mate or you may have a room by yourself, it’s just based on the way the center is set up. They probably will take blood, so that you will be medically cleared. They had to draw blood from me several times but at different places, to get medically cleared and then just to check if anything was wrong with me. I don’t like them either, but just take deep breaths and relax, also don’t look at it when they are taking it. Stay strong and stay sober.

Mental Health Assessment With a Psychologist?
Question by Just Jenna: mental health assessment with a psychologist?
My doctor has referred me to a psychologist for a mental health assessment and I’m just wondering what to expect at this appointment? I have had symptoms of depression for quite some time and have a hard time trusting and communicating with loved ones. What exactly does a psychologist do?
Best answer:
Answer by Macrocompassion
The work of psychology is in questioning and guiding you about what you should do. This expert does not prescribe medicine, which you might need later, but first your health apparently needs to be evaluated.
Answer by mustlovedogs
They will just ask you all kinds of questions about your depression and also your life in general. When did your symptoms start, how bad, what have you tried, what are you doing in school, what’s your family like, etc. No worries. It is a lot of questions, but if you answer as honestly as you can, they should make it easy for you.
