Alcohol Treatment Assessment?
Question by Samantha: Alcohol treatment assessment?
My fiance is going in for an assessment tomorrow for alcoholism at a local treatment center. I’m petrified of what they are going to say but think I am that way because I don’t know what to expect from the appointment. What are they going to do tomorrow? Just ask a bunch of questions? Will they take a urine or blood test? Has anybody been through this or done an assessment and knows whats going to happen?

How exactly the assessment is done depends on the facility. They might take her vital signs (record her resperations, heartbeat, bloodpressure, weight, height etc.) to rule out that she has any physical problems at the time or if she needs detoxification (withdrawl from alcohol can have very serious effects – seizures, delirium, dehydration etc.) and is more dangerous than, say, heroin withdrawl).

Answer by Tennessee Mom
Nothing is new ! If you are addicted and need help, Find a program that will work for you based on your personal issues
not all addictive personalities are the same no matter what you think you know, everyone has a different trigger and cannot all the time be generalized or lumped together, however addiction
is a strong demon and the strength that it has you the individual
give the power to slay your life that’s when the abuse takes over.
therefore treatment has to be ongoing.
Answer by hopefloats
There are alot of programs out there that can and will help. You first have to admit that you have a problem. I would suggest talking to your doctor or going to your local mental health agency or local hospital for help.
