How Is Outpatient Alcohol Treatment Works?

Question by John Doez: how is outpatient alcohol treatment works?

Best answer:

Answer by Zach Viva
Outpatient treatments do not require overnight stays and usually include alcohol education, individual and group counselling, support for family members of the alcoholic and case management. The outpatient treatments programs can be intense, requiring an alcoholic to attend four to five hours a day – every day of the week. They can also be held in the evening to allow a person to continue working. In some cases, outpatient treatment consists of weekly therapy sessions.

Adolescent Residential Treatment Centers / Rehab?

Question by (: <3: Adolescent residential treatment centers / rehab?
My parents want me to send me to an adolescent residential treatment center for my bulimia and depression. Im a 16 year old female

I need to know more about these programs through your firsthand knowledge and experience; there isnt much information about these centers on the internet

how much freedom do you have? do you have to go to bed and wake up at a certain time each day? how are the living conditions? do you ever get to leave the center to go out with friends or anything?

thanks so much.

I went somewhere for depression, alcohol and drugs. It’s HORRIBLE. Freedom=none. You have to ask to do ANYTHING and you have to listen to them. You cant take anything with you except maybe a pair or two of clothes. We had to be in bed by 8:30 and up by 6 but they would wake us earlier to talk to the therapist. But I could never sleep. It’s just horrible, the nurses are mean and yeah. You cant leave at all and you can only call your parents once a day or they can visit.

What Are the Effects of Heroin Addiction?

Question by Jonnel E: What are the effects of heroin addiction?
I just found out that one of my block mates has been using heroin to keep her up all night just so she can study for our exams. But I don’t think it’s doing her any good. I asked her if she wanted to talk about it, but she refused. I would like to help her get out of heroin addiction while she still can.

From what i`ve heard that stuff grabs you and does`nt let go. Not that any of it is good, but there are a lot better things to stay up all night on. You can search the effects and i`m sure you will find what you want

I’m doing a project and currently researching about two illicit drugs – ecstasy and heroin. I would want to know some information about them, preferably answering some of these following questions.

– How long does it stay in your body?
– What effect does the drug have on your mental health?
– Is the drug addictive?
– Why do people take the drug?
– What is the effect of the drug on the community?
