Eating Disorder Treatment?
Question by : eating disorder treatment?
I am wondering, if I want to be treated for my eating disorder in college, will I have to pay for treatment??? I cannot afford it now and obviously will not be able to afford it then, but I have been bulimic for 5 years and worry that it will become extremly bad in college without my parents there for me to worry about catching me…….does anyone know anything about this??? Please help, I need some advice.

no if you find the right people to help then it won’t cost you at all. try the help line for free of the teen disorder line too. they will help you.

the best thing to do is join a gym
also watch how much you eat…if you are eating and start to feel full…stop

Well there are trauma and addictions courses at most community colleges, and online, but that will get you a certificate in trauma and addictions counselling or communuty work, not a nursing degree.
If you want to be a nurse who specifically deals with substance abuse, you have to first get your nursing degree, then specialize in substance abuse. The former is faster and cheaper and generally easier, the latter is much more intense.

Many people that are mentally ill self medicate with alcohol and/or other drugs. Mentally ill people are also more prone to addiction than people that are not mentally ill.

It’s considered abnormal psychology, I believe. Most mentally stable people do not self-harm. People that abuse substances are often self-destructive, suffer compulsive thinking, among other things.
