Depression?
Question by Jenna.: Depression?
Ok i’m 13 years old and i think i have depression. i used to be very active, on volleyball teams & swim teams, etc. i’ve given up all these things. i used to have the best grades and now they’re dropping. i cry a lot and i’ve cut myself before (if i ever told my parents that they’d kill me). i’ve been thinking a lot about death. the thing is i told my parents and they thought i was joking. well i wasn’t. i’ve been taking tests online and they all say i have symptoms of severe depression. what do i do? i have nobody to turn to and i’ve felt this way for a while. i just want someone who doesn’t think i’m a joke.
i also can’t handle anything face to face it took me so long to tell my parents and they seemed so ashamed of me for saying i could be depressed.
or could this be something else?

You need to show your parents that this is not a joke.
Go to a school counselor. Show them your cuts. Tell them how you feel. And they will contact your parents for you, so you don’t have to break the news. And then they will see that it is serious, and they will help you help yourself.
