How to Measure Soul and Spiritual in Psychology?
Question by Fique: How to Measure Soul and Spiritual in Psychology?
In psychology, quatifiable identity is important for the psychologists to test their hypothesis. Like hunger can be measured by the amount of time a person is deprived from water, or measuring intelligence, through inelligence scale.
However, how do we measure human soul?
Ok, let’s say if I’m talking from religious point of view, how would I explain it?
Also I learned that Greek philosophical subject was also related to soul.

i have never seen anything attempting to measure this is Psychology.
But i imagine that a psych (paper and pencil) questionnaire could get subjective answers about the feelings of individuals ( or there actions) related to spirituality. Of course, you would want to try to tie that to some objective measure of spirituality for it to be meaningful.
That would be a whole Ph.D dissertation if you want to tackle it.

You can’t do it by means of objective observation. The closest you can come to using science in this way is to use it to rule out scientific observations as a means to explain certain phenomena. That alone would not prove something as subjective as human spirit, or a “soul.” These things can only be measured by how much we choose to believe in them (faith). So the measuring is also a subjective thing: a judgment we can only make for ourselves, which will vary greatly from individual to individual.
