Is There Anyway to Do the Mayo Deep Treatment Without the Smell?

Question by Christiana: Is there anyway to do the Mayo Deep Treatment without the smell?
I have found NUMEROUS home treatments that deal with mayonnaise. A lot of the reviews, however, complain about the smell. Is there anyway I can avoid that mayo smell in my hair after its rinsed out? Should I add something?

TWO THINGS; 1st: MOST IMPORTANT thing you can do for your hair…more important than shampooing, treatments and daily conditioning…that is using a LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER…ALWAYS. It smells great and is the best protection for your hair. It’s sunblock/cream for the hair. Also…mix the mayo up with an avocado and a couple of OVERLY ripen bananas to maximize hydration and minimize smellization (<---new word! I just made it up! GO ME!) ;0)

Best advice from Hollywood’s well known hairstylist in the 80’s once said: “Keep foods in your mouth and hair products on your hair.” I own the book written by Jose Eber, Shake Your Hair Darling. He was famous for charging Hollywood movie stars for $ 225.00 haircut in the 80’s, and created the famous Farrah Faucet hairstyle.

I’lll let YA POSTERS respond about hair mask: “i have naturally black hair but i hate it so i dye it brown + blonde highlights .. and bcuz of that it got really super dry .. i use olive oil and bunch of different oils every week ( as a hair mask ) , and they do help but not that much.”

And one from bad hot oil treatment:
“I used a store bought hot oil treatment a week ago and the results I had were horrible. From the minute I rinsed it out I could tell my hair was in worse shape. It turned out dry, brittle, and very tangled. What can I do to fix the effects of the got oil treatment?”

And one with seriously damaged hair:
My hair is ridiculously damaged, mostly due to the fact that I’ve been coloring it or bleaching it for several years now. A few years ago, my hair was so badly damaged after a color reconstruction that it all broke off to about 4″. Since then, it’s gotten longer, and I’ve taken it back to the closest color to my natural one that I can get it, but it is still so broken that I don’t know what else to do. I’ve done hair treatments, hair masks, used several different deep conditioners, moroccan oil, and I only straighten it once a week- if that. Nothing seems to be working, and I just want healthy hair again.

The secret is: Washing less often, builds the natural oil your hair needs, to get them smoother, shinier, silkier, softer. Man-made products are just temporary, until you wash them again, and at the same time washing off the natural oil your hair NEEDS. Hair products just absorb on your hair if they’re dry, like a sponge.
Jessica Simpson have figured it out, she said she wash her hair every week. She used to abuse her hair, then start selling hair extensions because her hair starting falling from all the chemicals, but she woke up and found out how to keep her hair healthy AGAIN.

Remember: The hair industry is a billion dollar business, they sell products that cleans & condition the hair. They also sell products that damage and causes hair loss. They also DO NOT give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss due to ‘abuse’. Mechanical, chemical, or thermal styling. Hair straighteners and relaxers top the hair products pose the greatest risks. Hair relaxers, related products marketed heavily to African-American women, are dangerous because they may contain powerful chemicals such as lye, a toxic substance also used in drain cleaners.

For as long as you continue the ‘abuse’ your hair will not get any healthier. When you wash your hair with one of those nutrient-rich shampoos, most of the nutrients and active ingredients in the product don’t actually end up in your hair, they wind up down the drain… along with all the money you spent on the shampoo. It is HOW you use to style your hair or what styling tools that damage the hair, and what chemicals you’re adding to the hair, not the shampoo. Look @ my hair now!
