The problem faced in this kind of matter is simple, EDUCATION. Or rather LACK of education. The government, actually local health authorities, WANT to teach people about this subject and they would if they COULD. The roadblock is the parents, parents who think sex education is BAD, for religious or other reasons. Idiots. Ignoring a problem does not mean it goes away. These people teach abstinence, which does NOTHING to tell people about the RISKS they face, nor what symptoms to watch for. Kids will have sex no matter what parents will say or do, at least SOME will. My parents recognized this and my mom, a registered nurse, taught all of us kids very well with all the details. I learned virtually NOTHING in school because of the idiots that restricted the school from providing any information that was accurate and of any value. It really helped that I grew up in a rural farm area of Illinois and saw biological reproduction first hand from an early age. I am FOR complete, accurate sex education. I am FOR supplying birth control to teenagers if they ask for it, anonymously even. If we teach kids HOW to be responsible and WHY it is important, in my opinion they WILL be responsible.
