Question by Mann: What other help for alcohol abuse is there other than AA?
I have been to AA before and I just can’t really affiliate. Maybe its the groups that I met with but I just didn’t find anyone that I could really affiliate with.

I have heard of a group called Rational Recovery that uses a model that is different than the 12-step model, and does not base recovery on any need or dependence on a higher power or god. It is not as common as AA so might be harder to find groups but if you live in a decent-sized town, you will probably be able to find one.

I just looked at their site, I guess they don’t have “groups” but they have lots of helpful info on the site. Good luck!

Try NA, I have heard others say they can’t relate to those in AA and have tried NA with success.
