Question by : What should I do when my parents argue?
Usually, my dad will lose it and he might say he wants a divorce with my step mom, or he would call the police. I hear my step mom screaming and saying no repeatidly like if she was scared. I have called the police a couple of times too. Im scared to call them anymore because I dont want my bros or I to be taken away. What should I do to stop them?

I don’t know exactly how old you are but when there is a time when things aren’t so tense I suggest that you speak to an adult that you trust (preferably a family member or close friend) and explain to them everything you said here and ask them to join you in an “intervention” with your Dad and your Step Mom explaining to the how you have had to intervene and call the Police yourself and that your Father has had to call the Police and that you are afraid that Department of Social Services is going to get involved and that you and your Brother will be removed from your home and that is something you DO NOT want to happen. Ask them if there is anything they can do to work on their relationship be it counseling or therapy or whatever but you really want them to work it out so that your family can get “healthier”. Explain that you love them both but that you cannot continue to live in these extremely stressful circumstances. I think you will be surprised how they will listen and understand a lot more than you think…sometimes parents don’t realize how much their fighting affects their children and this should help.
