The reason that you lose weight on cocaine or meth or any type of speed is simple. It gives your body energy, so it wants food less. The problem is that the energy is empty. Therefore what the body will do is deteriorate its own muscle before it’s own fat. Did that help?

Cocaine works by modulating the levels of serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain, much like amphetamines (although DO NOT confuse cocaine as an amphetamine), one of the side effects being suppression of the appetite. When a cocaine user uses the drug regularly, or goes onto a “binge”, he or she may not eat for some time, resulting in reduced caloric intake, and hence weight loss. This is the only mechanism of cocaine’s weight-loss effects.
